Tomcare Resources: 2023 GHG Inventory Report (ISO 14064)ESG Reporting, GHG Emissions, and PCF Assessments

Incorporated in 2014, Tomcare Resources is a leading manufacturer and supplier of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and components for well-known car brands in the region, such as Toyota, Perodua, Proton, etc.
Tomcare Resources is highly aware of the challenges posed by global warming and the significant role that business activities play in contributing to greenhouse gas emissions. In response, Tomcare Resources has decided to implement a GHG Management System and build a GHG Inventory to develop strategies for reducing its environmental impact.
SuSciCo collaborated with Tomcare Resources to enhance its sustainability initiatives by developing a GHG Inventory Report in compliance with ISO 14064-1:2018 Standard requirements and building a comprehensive GHG Information Management System (IMS).
challenge
Tomcare Resources’s internal ESG team and SuSciCo’s teams faced challenges in developing comprehensive GHG Inventory reports for 2023. Accurately measuring emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories required gathering high-quality data from diverse sources, including various types of energy consumption, transportation, waste, and employee commuting. Ensuring consistency and completeness of data was further complicated by the unique operational characteristics of the company. Meeting ISO standards requirements and creating a consolidated report demanded meticulous planning and alignment with the best GHG Management practices.
solution
To address these challenges, SuSciCo provided tailored GHG inventory solutions for Tomcare Resources. We conducted a comprehensive emissions assessment for Scope 1 (e.g., energy consumption, refrigerant leakage, and processes), Scope 2 (electricity and renewable energy use), and relevant Scope 3 categories, including business travel, employee commuting, and waste.
Data collection processes were streamlined across all facilities, and operational flowcharts were created to capture emissions sources systematically. SuSciCo’s expertise ensured full compliance with global standards, delivering actionable insights to support emission reduction strategies.
results
Through SuSciCo’s support, Tomcare Resources successfully developed a comprehensive GHG Inventory report, meeting international standards and regulatory requirements. The reports provided detailed insights into emissions across all scopes, enabling the identification of key reduction opportunities.
By consolidating data from all the facilities, the company achieved greater transparency and alignment in its sustainability goals. This initiative strengthened Tomcare Resources’s position as an environmentally responsible organization, ready to take informed actions to mitigate its carbon footprint.
