Practical Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) training for teams preparing product carbon data, evidence and buyer responses (aligned with ISO 14067).HRD Corp Claimable | Case-Based | Practical Workshop Options
SuSciCo provides practical Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) training for Malaysian manufacturers and product-based companies that need their teams to understand, support and manage product carbon data.
Many companies are now asked by customers, headquarters, buyers or internal management to provide product-level carbon information. The challenge is often not only the calculation. Teams also need to understand product boundaries, activity data, allocation, assumptions, workbook logic, evidence records and who owns the information internally.
This training helps ESG, QA, production, engineering, procurement, finance and management teams understand how Product Carbon Footprint work is prepared and supported before a PCF assessment or customer response begins.
The training uses ISO 14067 logic, practical production-data examples, workbook walkthroughs and evidence-based discussion. It is designed for practical internal readiness, not academic LCA theory or software training.
Training Formats
The training is available in two formats, depending on whether your company needs management alignment or working-level preparation.
Best for companies that need leadership alignment before starting PCF work or responding to customer product carbon questions.
This briefing helps management understand:
- why customers or buyers may request product carbon data;
- what a Product Carbon Footprint assessment usually requires;
- which departments may need to provide data;
- why boundaries, assumptions and evidence matter;
- what decisions management may need to make before a PCF project starts.
This format provides a clear overview without technical overload.
Best for companies that need working-level teams to understand how PCF data is prepared, reviewed and supported.
This training helps participants understand:
- product boundaries and declared unit;
- production, material, energy, fuel, packaging and transport data needs;
- activity data and emission factor basics;
- allocation for shared processes, batches or production lines;
- workbook calculation logic;
- assumptions, limitations and uncertainty;
- evidence records needed for customer, HQ or reviewer questions.
This format is suitable before a PCF assessment begins, or when your company needs stronger internal readiness for customer carbon-data requests.
Not sure which option fits your team?
Training helps your team understand Product Carbon Footprint concepts, data requirements, boundaries, allocation approaches, calculation logic and evidence expectations. It is designed to build internal awareness, readiness and coordination across the departments involved in PCF work.
Related Consulting Support
Many companies begin with training to align management, heads of department and data owners before proceeding with a Product Carbon Footprint assessment project.
If your company requires an actual Product Carbon Footprint assessment for a product, SuSciCo also provides consulting support to develop the PCF calculation, supporting workbook, data review, assumptions documentation and reporting outputs.
➜ Who This Training Is For
This training is suitable for Malaysian manufacturers and product-based companies that need to build internal understanding of Product Carbon Footprint work.
Typical participants include:
- directors and senior management;
- heads of department;
- ESG and sustainability teams;
- QA and compliance teams;
- production and engineering teams;
- procurement and supply chain teams;
- finance or costing teams involved in data records;
- operational data owners supporting product-level emissions information.
The training is especially relevant for companies preparing for customer requests, HQ reporting, supplier engagement, export-market expectations or future PCF assessment work.
➜ What the Training Helps Your Team Do
The training helps participants:
- understand how Product Carbon Footprint work is normally structured;
- recognise what production, material, energy, fuel, packaging and transport data may be needed;
- understand how product boundaries and declared units affect the result;
- recognise how shared emissions may be allocated across products, batches or production lines;
- understand how kg CO₂e per product is calculated and explained;
- identify common data gaps before a PCF assessment starts;
- prepare clearer assumptions, explanations and evidence records;
- coordinate better between ESG, QA, production, procurement, finance and management teams.
This is not generic sustainability awareness training. It is a practical PCF readiness workshop for teams that need to understand how product carbon data is collected, calculated, documented and explained.
Delivery and Customisation
Training is usually delivered in-house and can be customised based on your company’s products, participant roles, industry context, customer requirements and current readiness level.
Available formats:
- Half-Day Management Briefing;
- One-Day HOD and Data Owner Training.
Delivery mode may be physical, online or hybrid, depending on the training objective and participant profile.

Why SuSciCo
SuSciCo is a Malaysia-based ESG, GHG and carbon consulting boutique. Our training is grounded in practical experience with GHG accounting, Scope 3 data challenges, sustainability reporting, Product Carbon Footprint work and evidence-based carbon disclosure support for Malaysian companies.
Our PCF training focuses on practical readiness: boundaries, data requirements, allocation logic, calculation workbooks, assumptions and evidence trails.
The training is designed for companies that need practical internal understanding before product carbon work is developed, reviewed or explained externally.
Is this suitable if we have never developed a Product Carbon Footprint before?
Yes. The training is suitable for companies preparing for their first PCF assessment or responding to early customer questions about product carbon data.
Which format should we choose?
Choose the half-day briefing if your management team needs alignment before starting PCF work. Choose the one-day training if heads of department, ESG teams, QA, production, procurement, finance or data owners need practical working-level understanding.
Is this only for ESG teams?
No. PCF work usually requires input from production, engineering, procurement, finance, QA, sustainability and management. The training is designed to help these teams understand their roles and data responsibilities.
Does the training produce a PCF report?
No. Training supports understanding, readiness and internal capability. A completed Product Carbon Footprint assessment, calculation workbook or PCF report should be scoped separately as a consulting engagement.
Is this ISO 14067 training?
The training uses ISO 14067 logic to explain practical PCF concepts such as product boundaries, declared unit, activity data, allocation, assumptions and evidence. It is not a certification course.
Is this software training?
No. This is not SimaPro, GaBi, openLCA or other LCA software training. This training is designed to help teams use information that is already available within the company, together with publicly available data sources, to support Product Carbon Footprint development. The focus is on practical PCF understanding, data readiness, calculation logic and evidence preparation. For more complex PCFs, access to specialised emission factor datasets may be required.
Can the training be customised?
Yes. The training can be adjusted based on your product type, participant roles, customer requirements, available data and whether your company is preparing for a PCF assessment.
What This Training Does Not Include
This training does not provide a completed Product Carbon Footprint report, product-specific PCF calculation, ISO certification, statutory assurance, third-party verification, Environmental Product Declaration preparation, carbon neutrality claims, LCA software training, legal advice, guaranteed compliance or guaranteed acceptance by customers, buyers, headquarters, reviewers or certification bodies.
Where your company requires an actual PCF assessment, calculation workbook, evidence pack or PCF report, this should be scoped separately as a consulting engagement.
