event description
This one-day programme is designed for Malaysian SMEs and mid-sized companies preparing their first sustainability disclosure, responding to customer ESG requirements, or beginning organisational GHG accounting.
The training is not structured as a general ESG awareness lecture. It is designed as a practical business workshop to help management and relevant departments understand what ESG and GHG management may mean for the company, where to begin, how responsibilities should be organised, what data may be required, and how to avoid common early-stage mistakes.
who should attend
Suitable for personnel involved in ESG reporting, data collection or implementation, including: ESG / Sustainability PICs; Finance; HR; Operations / Facilities; Procurement / Supply Chain; H&S / EHS; managers responsible for first-year sustainability disclosure.
For companies beginning ESG reporting, participation from more than one function can improve internal alignment and implementation.
by the end of the programme, participants should be able to:
- identify the ESG topics and information relevant to an initial SME disclosure;
- understand the basic structure of Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 accounting;
- identify likely ESG and GHG data owners across the company;
- recognise key data/evidence requirements;
- establish immediate next steps for the company’s first reporting cycle.
