GHG Accounting & Scope 3 Training

Practical training for Malaysian companies that need their teams to understand, support and manage Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions data.HRDC-Claimable | Case-Based | 30% Learning 70% Practice

Many companies now need emissions data for ESG reporting, customer requests, HQ reporting, climate disclosure or internal review. The challenge is often not only the calculation. Teams also need to understand boundaries, activity data, emission factors, assumptions, evidence records and who owns the information internally.

SuSciCo provides practical, Malaysia-focused GHG Accounting and Scope 3 training that can be adapted to your company’s reporting stage, participant roles and industry context.

Typical participants include:

  • directors and senior management;
  • CFO, finance, risk and company secretarial teams;
  • sustainability and ESG teams;
  • operations, procurement, logistics, HR, EHS and other data owners;
  • department heads responsible for emissions data inputs.

➜ What the Training Helps Your Team Do

The training helps participants:

  • understand how Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions data is normally structured;
  • recognise what activity data, emission factors, assumptions and records may be needed;
  • clarify internal data ownership across finance, operations, procurement, HR, logistics and EHS;
  • understand how Scope 3 categories may be screened, prioritised and estimated;
  • prepare for better coordination during GHG inventory, Scope 3 or disclosure-support work.

This is not generic climate awareness training. It is a practical GHG accounting workshop for teams that need to understand how emissions data is collected, calculated, documented and explained.

What This Training Does Not Include

This training does not provide a completed GHG inventory, Scope 3 quantification report, statutory assurance, third-party verification, certification, carbon credit registration, offsetting, SBTi target validation, ESG rating submission management, guaranteed compliance or guaranteed acceptance by auditors, buyers, regulators or rating platforms.

Where your company requires an actual GHG inventory report, calculation workbook, evidence pack, Scope 3 quantification or disclosure support, this should be scoped separately as a consulting engagement.

Can the training be customised?

Yes. The session can be adjusted based on your company type, participant roles, industry context, reporting stage and current readiness level.

Which training pathway should we choose?

Choose Corporate GHG Accounting if your team needs to understand organisational emissions inventories across Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 categories. Choose Scope 3 Emissions Quantification if your company already has Scope 1 and Scope 2 foundations and needs deeper value-chain emissions capability.

Which format should we choose?

Choose the half-day briefing if your leadership team needs alignment, the one-day training if your working team needs practical understanding, and the two-day practicum if your company wants applied internal preparation.

Is this suitable for non-technical participants?

Yes. The half-day briefing is designed for senior leaders and heads of department. The one-day and two-day formats can be adjusted based on participant background.

Does this training include GHG inventory development?

No. Training supports understanding, readiness and internal capability. GHG inventory development, Scope 3 quantification, workbook preparation or disclosure support can be discussed separately where needed.
